緊急應變

The first five minutes matter most.

A calm plan beats a fast panic. Here's what to do, and what to have ready before anything happens.

If you find someone after a fall

01

Don't lift them

Check whether they're hurt or dizzy first. Lifting can make an injury worse.

02

Call for help

In Hong Kong, dial 999 for ambulance, fire or police.

03

Keep them warm

Blanket, cushion under the head, stay at their eye level and keep talking.

04

Have the facts ready

Age, medication, conditions, and the exact address including block and floor.

Signs that mean call 999 now

Stroke signs

Face drooping, arm weakness, slurred speech, note the time it started.

Chest pain

Pressure, pain spreading to the arm or jaw, sweating or breathlessness.

Sudden confusion

New disorientation, not recognising family, or a sudden severe headache.

Bleeding or a head knock

Especially if they take blood-thinning medication.

Prepare this today

  • A one-page medical summary on the fridge: conditions, medication, allergies, doctor
  • The full address written out, including estate, block and flat
  • An agreed order of family contacts, shared with everyone
  • A spare key with a trusted neighbour
  • A personal alarm worn every day, so help can be called without reaching a phone

This guide is general information, not medical advice. In an emergency in Hong Kong, call 999.

Put the safety net in place
